Red Sails Shipyard is pleased to present the Mercury as an Age of Sail ship for SPD enabled estates and sailing regions. The RSS Mercury is based on the plans and drawing for the Russian Mercury, a 20 gun Brigantine. The RSS version is done with scale details in mind to offer a beautiful looking ship suitable for SPD Age of Sail combat.
The Mercury sails smoothly thanks to high quality mesh physics combined with efficient scripting. Comparable to existing SPD ships, the Mercury's performance will not leave a Captain wanting for more. Although mounting 10 cannons ... two less cannons than the bigger medium class ships ... the Mercury enjoys a slightly better turning rate to compensate. Downwind sailing is a true joy when the square sails are raised though at a cost to upwind speed.
Filled with unique features such as a self rezzable repair depot and new switchable camera views for the Captain, the RSS Mercury should prove to be a favorite for battlers and non-battlers alike.
