Winter might not be the perfect time to sit on a bench in your garden; but if you have one on your porch, it's a great time to add a cozy quilt, to keep you warm!
The wood on this Arts & Crafts style bench has weathered to a soft silvery gray, which perfectly complements the bright colors used in the hand-made quilt that drapes carelessly over the back and left arm. There are two matching pillows, tossed on the right side, all in a colorful Winter Solstice motif.
The patchwork for the quilt is Robin's original design, although the central lone star was inspired by Jan Krentz' Spiral Lone Star quilt. The quilt is enhanced with a normal map, so if you have ALM (Advanced Lighting Model) enabled in your Preferences, the quilting will react to the lights in the area, and look very realistic.
The bench seats 3, with various poses including reading, drawing, and drinking a hot drink. For those 3 poses, props automatically rez, and ask if they can attach to your Avatar. Say Yes, and the prop flies into place, so you can use it. When you change poses, or stand, it automatically vanishes. No hunting for it in your inventory, and no inventory bloat.
The drawing pad has one an original Robin Wood prismacolor pencil piece, "Watcher in the Snow", that you can pretend to draw as you sit there.
The book is a collection of "Short Stories for Long Winter Nights", also original, with an illustration featuring another of Robin's prismacolor pieces.
For some of the poses on the right, the pillows would be in the way; so they vanish until you stop using that pose.
If you happen to be a quilter, and would like to use your own quilt and pillows on the bench, you can do that! There are shading textures included. You'll find them in the Read Me notecard, along with instructions detailing how to use them to shade your own fabrics or images to use on the bench.
There are 4 mesh objects on this bench; the bench itself, the quilt, the pillows, and a tiny cube that preloads the textures so you don't have to wait for them to rez as the pillows appear and vanish.
Since it's copy/mod, you can even use the parts separately, if you like! (There are no sits in the quilt or pillow; just the bench. And the bench is shaded for the quilt and pillows, so you may not want to use it without them.)
Come to the Quilt Store on Livingtree and take a look at this bench rezzed in world. You're sure to love it!
