R(S)W Wooden Honey & Sorrel Bowls
Details
In our Tradition of Wiccan, we have two bowls on the altar, one with honey and one with sorrel, to remind us that there is sweetness and bitterness in every life. It's just part of existence, and not necessarily any kind of reward or punishment.
Life isn't that simple, and it's not always about you. Sometimes things happen because of the choices other people have made, or just because they happen, without any human beings involved at all.
I designed these bowls to go with the other pieces of wooden altar ware. The bowl with sorrel says, "In every life there is bitterness." The honey bowl says, "In every life there is sweetness."
In real life, we dip the sorrel into the honey, and eat some, to remind us of the principle, and to show us that the combination is really better than either by itself. We need both, in our lives, whether we think we do or not.
Here, though, the bowls are just props. They don't do anything, and you can't eat from them. They just serve as reminders.
