This rat uses the new pathfinding functions in secondlife. Pathfinding is a new set of tools that enables objects to make your sim look alive. the rats will flee avatars that are in range, without bumping into anything, avoiding objects. They can find complex ways to reach their target.

To use them, you need to prepare your land for it. it is easy to do, just follow the instructions below

How to prepare your land for pathfinding
-------------------------------------------------

1.) To use pathfinding, you need to be the owner of the objects that the rats are going to walk upon. To make things easy, rename the objects to unique names.
For example, rename all the streets where you like your rat to wander, to 'street'. Other objects (obstacles) have to be named differently
2.) Then, load secondlife using the official secondlife viewer.
3.) In your viewer, select Build -> Pathfinding -> Linksets. You will get a window to set the pathfinding functions.
4.) Select all objects (ctrl-click) that you had named 'street', and set them to 'walkable' in the selection box at the bottom of the pathfinding window. Then click 'apply changes'
5.) you will get a warning sign that you need to rebake the sim for the change in the paths. Click Ok and press the button 'rebake sim' that appeared near the bottom of your viewer window.
6.) After a minute your sim will be rebaked , and you can use the rats. They will only go on the prims that you have made walkable.

it is fun to experiment with them, give them obstacles to navigate around. You will see they can find complex ways to get to their target

if there is nobody around, or if the rats are lost, they will return to their home position, where you have rezzed them.
