Really useful chatbot script PRO Edition (boxed) Version 7.4
A chat bot script to create simple NPCs (Non Player Character) in your sim. For hours of interactive roleplay fun!
If you do not have experience with the Really Useful Chat Bot Script, you are advised to start with the standard edition (see related item listings at bottom of this page).
This Pro Edition is more powerful than the standard edition with more memory and more features:
- set how near or far your NPC will detect avatars in its proximity to interact with
- configure different greetings (or emotes) for avatars your NPC 'meets' for the first time vs return visitors
- configure different greetings (or emotes) your NPC will say to the owner
- provide chat phrases (or emotes) which your NPC will say randomly and how often (using a notecard)
- provide responses to key words / phrases which your NPC hears in public chat (using a notecard)
- interactive chatter capabilities with configurable weights to multiple possible answers (using one or more 'brain files') [NEW]
- SmartAttention feature to detect distance and direction of speaker to decide if bot is being spoken to [NEW]
If you don't like the look of the mesh model, you can move the script to another object you own.

ADVANCED FEATURES (See the *Chat and *Responses notecards in the Contents of the parrot for examples)
- Ability to support emotes (ie. /me is pecking at the table)
- Ability to incorporate avatar names (choice of display name or legacy name) the NPC detects
- Ability to specify pauses between chat responses
- Chat response supports clickable links to SL locations (slurl)
- Chat response supports clickable links to avatar profile pages
- Ability to give out landmarks, notecards and other inventory items
- Ability to support exact or partial match for keyword/keyphrase to give a response
- Touch by owner will make script report on which avatars are in sensor range and in long term memory ("met" before)
- If memory is low, the long term memory (list of avatars met before) will be flushed to avoid script error
- Configure different greetings (or emotes) your NPC will say to the owner
- Ability to guess gender based on avatar body shape, and use appropriate gender title (eg. Sir or Madam)
- Ability for owner to 'take over' chat silently by using a owner channel to make the NPC say/emote something ◆
- Periodic chat phrases can be turned off / on through verbal command (ie. quiet mode or chatty mode) ◆
- Switch for NPC to become invisible when it does not sense any nearby avatars ◆
- Ability for anyone to communicate to NPC via private channel ◆
- Switch for NPC to rotate to face nearest avatar it senses ◆

✶ Ability to set name of object/person to ignore chat from (eg. ignore chat from another bot)

✶ Ability to switch textures on NPC by specifying link number and texture UUIDs in config notecard

Excellent and straightforward
I am not a scripter, but these instructions are very clear about what to do where and I actually have bought two of these because the first one worked so well. I put them in cute little half deer animals and they work really well as greeters and receptionists. And it's fun to get in there and change up the personality for each one so they have different responses, etc. I definitely recommend this product.
Great product, impeccable customer service
I'll keep this short since now I must write two reviews. This product is very well designed and user friendly, but even then, I still had a dumb question - the creator was right there to help out. The only way I could be happier with this purchase is if I had just purchased the copy edition from the start. Try it out!
