A Triumph of Form and (Minimal) Function.

One simply must manage the expectations of one's clientele. When a gentleman of a certain... disposition... reserves the Veranda Table for his weekly "luncheon" with his "niece," he expects a modicum of discretion. The previous system—a clumsy, hand-scrawled note on cardstock—was a breach of protocol that nearly caused a scandal when the breeze from a server's tray sent it tumbling into the oyster bar.

This Reserved Table Card has been nothing short of a salvation.

It is elegantly inert. The gold foil edging catches the candlelight just so, announcing its purpose with quiet dignity rather than a garish shout. It looks like it belongs on our mahogany tables, which is half the battle.

The genius, however, is in its sublime simplicity. A single, gentle touch and it vanishes, leaving no trace of the reservation's machinery. Another touch, and it faithfully returns. There is no fumbling, no confusing mechanism for the staff to master. I no longer find my hostesses—bless their beautiful, bewildered hearts—attempting to "refold" it into an origami swan out of sheer confusion.

The card's mere presence communicates everything: This table is spoken for. The affair may proceed.

It is, in essence, the perfect servant: seen and not heard, utterly reliable, and impossibly chic. It has reduced training time by a quarter and elevated the entire aesthetic of our dining room. Elizabeth is now Employee of the Month for the third time. Coincidence? I think not.

A necessary acquisition for any establishment that values atmosphere as much as efficiency.

Absolutely perfect

What a lovely product, it looks absolutely perfect. The textures are smooth and tasteful, the novelty of the fact you can place them down and click them when the people make use of the table. The maker is very nice, and this is well worth the money.
