The Quetzal is a tropical bird from central america, well known for its colorful plumage. It lives in forests from south Mexico to Panama.
The quetzal plays an important role in Mesoamerican mythologies and was a sacred bird for the ancient mayans, one associated with the god Quetzalcoatl. Only royalty and high priests could use the feathers of this bird in their attire.
It is also a national bird of Guatemala and is featured both on the flag and the coat of arms of that country.
This is a great addition to your tropical garden, parcel or treehouse - especailly if you want to give it a unique American vibe.

I admit, I wasn't sure what sound to expect, and when it went off, it was quiet again long enough for me to look at the mesh shape in a loop around with my viewer and then re-collect it for filing in my inventory folders. I look forward to placing a few around my jungle parcel! It's highly recommended you have other ambient sounds in your space so the sound of this guy doesn't cut the silence like a disturbance. It's a bit of a funky looking bird, but, maybe that's part of why I like it! Gratitude for the sound and visual accent to my jungles!
