The Rezzable Flyer RT ( Race Tune ) Sled allows for tuning for various terrains types.
The idea is to use Linden Ski slopes and race your friends down the slopes. The original Rezzable Flyer Sled was tested on Second Life's Ski Slopes and fine tuned to create the fun and feel of a sleigh ride. Now you can tweak those settings to fine tune your sled to meet specific needs.
HOW IT WORKS:
The sled has three tuning parameters. These are listed in the object description field of the sled.
The parameters look like this:
8.5 , .45 , 12
Each parameter must be separated by a comma.
# 1 is the speed. You may need more speed to overcome weight and friction as well as a steeper oncoming snow hills. Going too fast is not as much fun.
Good ranges for speed are between 7.5 and 12.5.
# 2 is the turning factor. The turning factor should be less than 1. The default setting is .45 . You may need to turn faster if your speed is fast. This can really help you tune your sled better for specific slopes.
# 3 is the grip of the sled. It could be set to zero. More grip requires more speed since grip creates friction. Grip helps keep the sled grounded for bumpy slopes. If you want to use your sled like a car, set the grip to zero.
OPERATION:
Rez the sled and place it anywhere you like but preferably on top of a hill. Simply touch the Sled and choose "use sled". Sitting on the sled turns vehicle mode on, unsitting yourself turns it off. So you can simply change your tune settings in the object description field and sit back on the sled again to see your results.
CONTROLLING YOUR SLED:
Your arrow keys control Forward, Reverse , left and right turns. Touching no arrow keys will cause the sled to slow down and stop. It will still slide down a hill as a real sled would.
Use the Page UP key to raise the sled and reposition it. This is handy if you go off course and need to reposition yourself. Not using the forward and back arrow keys is like using brakes. So its possible to slow down into a turn. You can also hold the forward/back arrow keys down while turning and power into a turn. The sled will sink in water because its like a real sled.
