The native range of the wild cherry extends through most of Europe, western Asia and parts of northern Africa, and the fruit has been consumed through its range since prehistoric times. The cherry family (Prunus) includes fruits with other common names such as the plum, apricot, peach, and others. The English word cherry, French cerise and Spanish cereza all come the ancient Roman place name Cerasus, (today a city in northern TurkeyGiresun) from which the cherry was first exported to Europe in 72 BC.
From ancient times the cherry blossom, (called a sakura) season is a time for picnic feasts under the blooms and festivals I Japan. Come spring meteorologist report on the sakura zensen (cherry blossom front) as it moves north up the archipelago with the return of warm weather. Cherry blossoms symbolize the beauty and transience of life, and while the yellow chrysanthemum is the a the symbol of the emperor and government, unofficially the cherry blossom is symbol for the county and its people. Japan has sent thousands of cherry trees to other nations in commemoration of treaties and friendship gifts. Washington DC,’s cherry blossom festival is largely due to several of these gifts.
The Yoshino cherry tree is now one of the most popular and widely cultivated flowering cherries (sakura) in the world snd the Kanzan is anther important and popular variety.
This tree looks more realistic than many of the 3 or 4 prim trees on the market. It is set to natural light, not bright so it does not glow in the dark. Unless of course you want it to glow – it is modifiable so you can shrink or enlarge it to suit your needs. You can also copy it so you can set out an entire forest.
I started landscaping on a history sim where 1/3 of the prims are reserved for tall ships and texture lag can sink a ship. Conserving prims, using low prim items, allows for more role play props to be rezzed. And using high quality, quick loading low lag textures make for convincing detail. Cute and great LI and price
I love the price and look of these trees from afar. Up close, you lose the effect bc the texture is blurry. BUT! You have many pretty trees in a straight line, with as low a Li as you could want. They would make great parcel dividers (or privacy "screens").
My major complaint is once I placed the trees, they were Impossible to edit around because of the huge prims. It came to a point where I ultimately had to remove the trees, finish the rest of the build, and put the trees in last. I have a great result for what I needed, though, so kudos!
A Lovely Set Of Trees At a Lovely Price
The item I received was exactly what is in the description: a row of beautiful cherry blossom trees that only has one land impact on my parcel, no matter its size. Because its copyable, I can rez as many as I want, and create a very low-prim forest, if I'm in the mood to do so. I honestly can't believe the amazing 9L$ price tag on it. This is well-worth the purchase. One thing, however: if you want to use this item on a small parcel, such as a 512 space, you may want to first rez the trees in a sandbox, so you can bring it down to a more appropriate size for your living space. I have trouble comprehending size within SL, so not thinking, I rezzed it onto my small parcel, then had to hurry to size it down, as parts of it were sticking onto parts of a neighbor's space.
Finally, if there is any doubt as to this builder's products, know that this builder gives excellent customer service, before and after purchase. I can say that I am very much a satisfied customer, and I plan to continue purchasing items from this person, in the future!
