Ruby's Song Timer

Welcome to the virtual choreographer's tool for analyzing and timing song structures! This handy little HUD is designed to help you break down a song into its different parts, so you can choreograph your dance moves to match the music.

To get started, you'll need to attach the HUD to your avatar and prepare your song. As usual, (in a document or spreadsheet) get your lyrics and markup the various parts you want to time (Intro, verse, chorus, bridge, solo, outro). The tool helps with finding where these sections start in the song.

When you're ready to start timing, press the "Intro" button on the HUD. This will reset the timer and you can get ready to start analyzing the song structure.

As the song plays, listen carefully and press the relevant button on the HUD when the corresponding part of the song is playing. For example, if the verse is playing, press the "Verse" button. If there's a chorus, press the "Chorus" button. The timer will simply inform world chat when you pressed each button.

You can press each button as many times as you like to mark multiple occurrences of that part of the song. For example, if there are multiple verses in the song, press the "Verse" button each time a new verse starts.

When the song is over, press the "Stop" button to mark its end. Please note that the timer will keep timing (which is handy if you pressed it at the wrong time and want to press it again.)

It's important to remember that the timer will only reset when you press the "Intro" button. So make sure you always start with "Intro" at the beginning of the song, and don't press it again during the song, or the timer will be reset.

We hope this little tool is helpful in your future choreography making. Happy dancing!
