First in a series of mesh facial hair for male avatars, the Rustica Norse beard follows the tradition of the feared roving warriors of ancient times. Available in this set of Red, Brown, Blond, Grey and Black, these require a mesh viewer to view properly, and are rigged to move with your avatar, rather than poke through the body like earlier building forms. They are modifiable so that you can adjust the color, but be aware that as rigged mesh items, you cannot adjust the shape or size except for those aspects affected by bone sliders. I have tried these on the extreme range of avatar sizes, from a dwarf to a giant, and they fit perfectly. I spent a lot of time to adjust/readjust the movement on these and it came out very realistic, something you just cannot get with sculpted facial hair.
Embrace your inner viking!

Epic Beard!!
Slight clipping but overall epic. Found a few haris to go with it from other merchants.
Great Beard of Twitchy Contempt D:
Despite how it works with a Dwarf avatar I do like this product except one major flaw which is really obvious and downright bothers me.
I thought something might be wrong with it as the upper half of the beard twitches, upon closer inspection I found that it is also attached to the eyes when it was rigged and moves whenever they do :(
I would give this beard a 5 star if it weren't for this problem, being an a-typical stout dwarf I do not mind having a beard that looks as squat as I do XD
Please correct this issue and send out an update, would be greatly appreciated.
A great idea!
Now, being a dwarf in SL, and having some knowledge of how a mesh is put together, I am torn on this product. On the one side I realise how much time and effort has gone in to it, and I completely understand the skill level to get it this far! However, more by way of fault on Linden Labs part, because of my height (or lack of) the mesh snaps to my avatar skeleton in a weird "bunched up" kind of way and the textures stretch out badly when I look from side to side. There are some fantastic mesh hair producers out there, and I think this beard is certainly on the right tracks (if not quite there just yet).
My advice, it's worth trying it out for sure, as long as you're not of the stout folk!
I've rated it 3/5 for the following reasons:
-1 star rating for the fact I put "Dwarf" in the search bar and this product turned up at the top. It doesn't work with a dwarf shape - so you might want to amend your search tags.
-1 star rating for the texture clipping/stretching. Might sound harsh but there are mesh hairs out there that do the job nicely without :)
I hope you don't think I've been too harsh! I'm happy for the creator to contact me if they'd like to discuss the product further!
wish there was some hair
