The concept has two parts - the Supermarket building and the Supermarket products.
It is a big project and the implementation cost a lot of time - together with my team we worked more then 250 hours on it.

What exactly is it?
This is a virtual world Supermarket to give those learning English the experience of using the language in a practical way.
You enter the building which looks much like a supermarket in RL and then go shopping for various everyday items.
To your right as you enter you find an information point (MOD) wich gives a notecard with tips to help with your shopping.
You are then given a HUD with 3 options for placing it on your screen (TOP / TOP RIGHT / CENTER), and a shopping basket. A click on the correct shield and you get a shopping list. You can specify the number of items on the list (maximum 20) which are chosen from 67 products by a random sequence generator.

If you like we can make more products of your own - the system can manage 350 products without any problem!

The products are in the following catagories:
Fruit, vegetables, juices, coffee,tea, pasta, rice, sugar, flour, breakfast cereals, dairy products( yoghurt,cheese), fish,meat, bread, convenience foods, frozen food, sweets, bodycare, washing powder and much more.
Numbers in the shopping list are listed as words, for instance "buy seven apples" and not " buy 7 apples".
You buy the things from the shopping list by clicking on the products displayed in the store.
When you have bought all the items on the list, you are ready to go to the checkout.
The system records how long your shopping took and with how many errors so your teacher can check your progress..
It’s a cool way to learn English while having fun .
As a speciality there are two pyramids of cans, peas and soup. These have their own random sequence generator, which decides wether the cans fall by click or touch. there is a text when the cans fall. great fun !
More languages are possible and we also welcome suggestions for changing the Supermarket design.
