Fitted-Mesh F.A.Q
►What is it?
Fitted-Mesh allows you to stretch & shrink certain aspects of a Mesh Garment to attain a better fit. This is because It is rigged to the collision bones rather than the standard avatar skeleton.
►How does it work?
Firstly, one pre-requisite is that the actual shape you wear has to be modifiable. When you edit your shape, certain sliders will also control the dimensions of the Fitted-Mesh.
eg. go to the Torso Tab and scroll down to "Belly Size". Watch the waist of the Tee & Cardigan increase & decrease as you change the position of the slider. try the "Torso Muscles" too ;)
►Any limitations?
Yes, you must still wear an alpha to prevent your skin from clipping through the Fitted-Mesh. Not all sliders will affect the Mesh, so experiment until you find a sweet spot that compliments your shape.
►Any advantages?
Yes, at this stage and although fitted Mesh hasn't replaced the standard sizes (usually 5) it does help fill the gap in between those sizes by allowing a more custom fit.
Another advantage, more so for females clothing is that when Fitted-Mesh is worn with a Physics Layer, the Fitted Mesh will also begin to move with Breasts and Butt.
►Any disadvantages?
Yes, only those with a compatible viewer will be able to see Fitted-Mesh correctly. At time of writing, all current versions of the official Linden Lab viewer, FireStorm and Singularity are compatible.
Those on viewers that are not compatible will see a distorted mesh which often leaves long elongated streaks of mesh behind the wearer.
If your shape is not modifiable, you will not be able to adjust the Fitted-Mesh.
