The Position Marker Laser is a measuring tool I made.
It is a 2-prim object. It consists of a tiny red probe tip, and a large blue handle (pole).
Both the probe tip, and the blue handle, have floating text which gives the center position of the red tip.
NEW FEATURE for version 1.12: floating text that gives the distance being traced by the particle laser!
This is useful for measuring buildings by rezzing multiple markers, for instance at the corners of a building.
Then, you can determine the size of the building by subtracting the positions given by the floating text.
I originally designed this tool to aid me when terraforming land with the Landbot product made by SpankMe Pinkerton. The Landbot likes to receive parameters from open chat, including size and position coordinates. I could copy/paste some of these from the numbers spoken on open chat by the Position Marker. or do my own subtraction, and type the numbers.
The Position marker features a Laser (particle) beam which can be used to trace the path to another Laser Position Marker. This feature is limited to one laser emitted from one marker, and it works by sensing nearby markers, and letting you choose between which of the 12 it detects first.
This product is sold only as copy/mod/no-transfer, but at a low price so that anyone should be able to afford it!
Note: the scripts are no-mod.
You can configure the particle laser via notecard.
