Perception, perception, perception. What exactly does it mean to be a cube? What are the fundamental characteristics? It is these questions which drive the essence of the Infinity Cube sculpture. Instead of presenting the typical wire frame representation of the edges of a cube, this particular sculpture was inspired by the following: [https://www.instructables.com/Infinity-Cube-Table/]. This sculpture presents almost a trace of a cube in the midst of a transformation. In some ways, it seems to have some kinship with the impossible cube of M.C. Escher that relies of the viewers position in order to convey the perspective of a cube without the object actually being a cube. Escher's impossible cube served as the basis for one of his more famous lithographs entitled Belvedere [see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belvedere_(M._C._Escher)]. A question that might arise is the cube defined in your mind by the sculpture's positive space or the ethereal negative space that it surrounds? What do you think?
