Safe & Sound
Safe & Sound is a secure item storage and delivery system. It has 5 levels of access, so can be used to share items, e.g. notecards, with different groups of people. S&S consists of two types of object:
* Keep (LI1), where items are stored
* Callpoints (LI2), which are used for requesting item delivery
Multiple copies of the Callpoint can be placed in the region for each Keep, so that users can have easy access, and It is possible to have more than one system operating in the same region by specifying an offset integer to the communication channels in the object descriptions.
Access Levels
-----------------
The access levels of S&S are:
0: not in group (anyone can access)
1: in group (users in the group set to the Keep)
2: listed tags (users with group tags listed in the Keep data notecard)
3: listed keys (users with specified keys in the Keep data notecard)
4: owner & creator (the owner/creator of the system)
Higher levels take precedence over lower levels, e.g. listed keys have access at level 3 even if not using a listed tag.
Items
------
Items can be of any type, although notecards are envisaged as being the most useful, e.g. for sharing information within an organisation such as a school. It is necessary for all items to have Copy permission. The names of the items are used for menu buttons. The access for an item is specified by prefixing the name with the number of the minimum level required, e.g. an item called 2Rules can only be delivered to users with access level 2 or above.
Keep
------
The content of the Keep can be changed by the owner in the same way as any other object in Edit mode, but there is also a menu from which objects can be deleted.
Callpoints
-----------
When a Callpoint is clicked it will communicate a request from the user to the Keep, which will supply lists of items available at the user's access level back to the Callpoint. The user will then be given a menu of items available in level & alphabetical order, but without the level numbers being displayed. Selecting an item will cause the Keep to offer delivery to the user's inventory. The owner may also delete items remotely from the Keep and post an item to the Keep using the Callpoint. The Callpoint menu also has a SCAN facility for users with access level above 1. This is intended to be used to check if agent data is present in the Keep, which can be used in an institution such as a school, where it is important to have agent-specific data available only to authorities.
Objects have copy & modify permissions; scripts have copy permission.
