It looks like someone did quite a rushed job with this traditional Hindu forehead marking. It's recognisable but the 'third eye' is off centre and the lines look a little rough. It's got character!

This is the tilaka or pottu work by Saivite Hindus. It is made famous by countless rishis and saints and even adorns the forehead of Lord Siva himself.

Mystically, the materials used in the it are kumkum, chandan, and vibuthi. kumkum (red) powder which forms, atop the chandana (yellow) the third eye, representing spiritual insight and wisdom. The three lines are made of ash, reminding one of the temporary nature of the physical. The three lines symbolise the bonds that God breaks to bestow liberation, ego, karma, and maya.

(Neater versions may be available upon request, depending on people's desire. I made this for personal use but because I haven't seen anything like it about, I figured I'd have it up for others who might like to try.)
