"Kahlil Gibran (1883–1931) was a Lebanese-American writer, poet, and artist celebrated for his philosophical works, most notably The Prophet. Born in Lebanon, he moved to Boston with his family in 1895, where he later studied art and writing, supported by patrons and mentors. He was a key figure in the Romantic movement that modernized Arabic literature and his English-language works, blending Eastern and Western philosophy, gained international fame, with The Prophet becoming one of the best-selling books of all time." -- and is one of my favourite books of all time.
