Scenery Item : Graving Blocks for Thames sail & motor barges Version 1.0 [12 November 2021]

Barges were usually built, maintained and repaired by small to medium sized local yards that did not have specialist dry docks so blocks (or graving blocks) were used instead. The vessel would either be physically hauled up onto the blocks above the water level or sailed over the blocks and then secured in place once the tide went down so work could then safely commence.

Two models are included here as scenery items:

* An unoccupied set of blocks
* Blocks with a Thames barge undergoing maintenance

Unfortunately Second Life has no tides but the models have long legs to sit satisfactorily in a variety of sim water depths. IM me if you need a set with extra-long legs and I'll make them for you.
