This is a dialog driven texture changer menu system that uses UUID's stored in the script instead of having the textures in the object.

This script will only work for the owner of the object it is placed in.

  • Gives a dialog menu on touch
  • Can place uuid's in script
  • No textures needed in the object
  • Easy to use
  • Low Lag

Easy to use, providing you have a tiny bit of knowledge on copying uuid's (super easy to do).. Works like a charm!!

Very effective script that would benefit from a manual

I would certainly concur with the other reviewers regarding the implementation of this script, particularly for those who are not familiar with UUID's. As advertised, this script allows you to incorporate references to textures in the form of UUID's, rather than have actual textures in the Content tab of your object and thus better protect your textures.

Every asset in Second Life has a unique UUID SL database number, which is typically quite long - xxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx. So, it is this number that you need to substitute in the script (UUID Changer menu - owner only) where it says "UUID1", etc. To get the UUID number for your texture/s right-click on the texture in your inventory and choose Copy Asset UUID. Paste this number between the commas in the script, i.e replace UUID1, UUID2, etc with unique asset numbers of your textures. See TEXTURE_VALUE below:

In the script where is says - ["Texture 1", "Texture 2", "Texture 3"]; // these can be changed to reflect the name of your textures. These are the menu buttons. You can add more buttons if you choose, up to 22 I believe.
Where it says -TEXTURE_VALUE = ["UUID1", "UUID2", "UUID3"]; // Each of these need to be the unique UUID of your texture or textures, that correspond to your buttons.

"Texture 1" refers to "UUID1", "Texture 2" refers to "UUID2", etc...

As far as I could see this script only works with a single object.

This is an excellent script and is great value for money, but suffers from poor front end support. Better support would do better justice to this very useful script! I've written all this because I believe in this script and appreciate its worth, as a builder and someone who enjoys the effective functionality of interactive objects in SL :D x

4 stars for the missing manual...

ok.. all put a little manual down here. the deliver box contains a nother box that has the script in it
take that script out to your inventory and put it in a new prim... open the script and change the script
where it sais:

//Texture names
list TEXTURE_LIST = ["Texture1", "Texture 2", "Texture 3"];
//Texture uuid's
list TEXTURE_VALUE = ["UUID1", "UUID2", "UUID3"];

was looking for this so i dont have to sell my textures full perm for others to put it
on prims to sell. great for texturing but dont want to flood the world with your creation
