Sign-Up Tool to enroll students or participants
Rez the tool to get a list of options. The tool responds to channel 1 by default. To change the channel, type:
/1 channel xx
where xx is the new channel you want to use for config commands
/1 help will show a list of options
/1 title MyTitle will change the course title to "MyTitle"
/1 text MyText will change the standard text "click to sign-up or get info"
/1 textcolor will set the hover text color the same color as the object
to set the text color, change the color of the root prim to any color you like, then apply /1 textcolor to set the text color. After that is done, you can change the prim color back.
/1 email mymail@myhost.com will change the email address
If you don't provide an email address, no email will be sent
/1 price xx will change the price to xx
if you set the price to 0, the payment option will not be mentioned to the user
/1 places xx will set the number of available places for registration
/1 reset will reset the stored avatar list
be cautious, the reset will erase all stored information
WARNING: If you pass the object to another avatar, the information will also be reset when the other avatar rez the object. So make sure you get out the information before you give away the tool.
Information will survive taking the tool into inventory and rezzing it again as long as it is rezzed by the same owner.
========= USAGE ==========
If the owner clicks on the object, you can choose "Show" to get a list of registered avatar names and avatars that have paid already. Additionally, you can choose "Email" to send the list to the stored email address.
A normal user will only see a dialog box "Sign Up", "Cancel" and "Info"
If the user chooses "Sign Up" another dialog will ask, "do you want to register for the course?" with option Yes and No
If the user chooses "Cancel", the name will be removed from the list if he/she is already registered. (This will not refund any payment. Refunds must be handled manually)
If the user chooses "Info", the tool will give the first Notecard that can be found in the object. So make sure you have one Notecard with course information in the object to give out to the user.
Jim makes everything you need to open your Virtual School. I asked him if he had something that students could register themselves and of course he did. Also check out the Multi presentation panel for teachers. The school owner can load in several multi image presentation and allow folks to get a HUD and teach any class loaded in the screen.
