Overview

Want to make a control panel of some sort, or maybe a HUD? Want to use a scrolling texture, controlled from scripts, to identify your buttons? Want to get started ASAP, but need some button textures? Here you go! They are not as fancy as the competition, but since they are the byproduct of another project of mine, there is nothing to keep me from offering them to others at a reasonable price. If you just want simple button textures, then these are for you.

These textures feature 30 buttons which can be controlled from scripts. Each button will need one prim-face on which to be displayed. Their colors are white on black, which means you can change the graphics of each button to any color without affecting the rest of their appearance. They are of uniform size and are arranged in 8 rows and 4 columns for scripting convenience.

How to Use

Select the rectangular prim face that needs to become a button. Apply the Buttons_Texture as its Texture (diffuse) setting. Optional for the 3D effect: Apply the Buttons_Bumpiness and Buttons_Shininess to their respective settings.

If you want a 3D effect with glowing text/graphics, you may want to use two layers. Use either emissive texture on the outer surface and set its Shininess to None. Use the bumpmap on the inner surface and set its color and shininess to whatever you like. In this case, you will need to adjust the texture scale and offset for both textures.

To make a rectangular face display the subtexture from row 0, column 0, set the texture properties like this:
Horizontal scale: 0.25
Vertical scale: 0.125
Horizontal offset: -0.375
Vertical offset: 0.435

To make a rectangular face display the subtexture from row M, column N, set the texture properties like this:
Horizontal scale: 0.25
Vertical scale: 0.125
Horizontal offset: -0.375 + N*0.25
Vertical offset: 0.435 - M*row

BUMP (NORMAL) MAPS DO NOT WORK ON THE HUD! They are only included in case you try to make something other than a HUD. THESE BUTTONS WILL NOT HAVE A 3D EFFECT WHEN ON A HUD ATTACHMENT.
