Well now you know what it is, but what does it do in Second Life? Simply put, it opens doors. Granted, this is Second Life and every door is scripted differently, making it impossible for any one device to open all of them. So to get around this little problem, the sonic pen creates a door for you. Simply wear one of the included pens, enter mouselook (press M) and aim at a wall, floor or other object. Once aimed, click the left mouse button and in a second or two, a glowing portal will appear in front of you. Exit mouselook, touch the portal, and you'll be whisked safely to the other side!

In SCANNER mode, aim at any object or avatar in mouselook and fire. The Sonic Pen will provide detailed information about your target, including movement speed, key, avatar age, prim and script count, etc.

If you want to change the particle and light color, simply edit the color of the screwdriver's root prim. The light and particles will automatically match. You can also edit the portal's appearance and sound effects.

Left and right-handed models are included. It also has a bonus crayon mode, letting you write or draw pictures in the air.
