in RL I'm a great fan of this little monostatic radio. It's looks very simple and puristic, but has an awesome full sound. With its plastic body It's even watertight to a certain extent, runs on rechargeable batteries and is as such perfect for the patio, or any picnic on the lawn.
In SL it was one of my first models - simply a textured prim (my oldest friends may remember it), since its plain brick design suggested it. Only... it was completely flat that times! (Later I added a little more detailed linked model, but that had 5p). Now, with a Blender mesh model, I'm back to 1! and with all these fine details - buttons, dialers, a sculpted telescope antenna. And of course it still contains my SoundMate parcel radio changer, easy to configure with an editable notecard.
NOTE: since parcel music managers work only for the OWNER of the ground (it is a LLab constraint), you need to rez and deed the included Relay.
UPDATE 4.1 script: A customer made me aware of this flaw: a deeded radio cannot be set to group restrictions. Therefore I introduced a 'group admin' feature. If you need to deed your radio, simply replace the included script by the 4.1 and also add the 'admin' notecard.
This change is not necessary for conventional ownership and land.
UPDATE 5.0 script: in response to many requests I added now a method to keep genres/ niches of music. With this latest update you can now add more that one station notecard (up to 10) which reflect "Pop", "Rock", "Latin" etc. iaw. the given name. the _admin notecard is now mandatory.
Update 5.1.1 beta included: a feature which pops up the stations menu once the genre was changed.
*** previous customers please toggle a redelivery! ***
- multi station tuning by multiple notecards
- custom URL possible
- radio station 5.0 script
excellent !
very practical, working good, and a nice design, & a cheap price.
Does exactly what you expect
I was a bit fed up with having to keep changing the URL when the music started to loop in the stream.
This does exactly what I wanted it to do and it look pretty cute too !
Thanks XsX
