Spaceship Shenandoa habitable for RP and more
- Spaceship habitable
Looks better in world, still flawed, expensive, LOW LI, not a rip(?)
IMO, this is a rare case where the screenshots don't do justice. Rezzed in world with full lighting on, the outside looks pretty solid, not perfect, but good enough to compliment. No unboxing and right out the gate it's 91 Li, which for a mesh ship this size is really good. I removed the stairs and engines and got it all the way down to 55, which is fantastic and easily the strongest point of this ship. It comes in a dozen or so prims; engines, rear section, bow section, rear side chunks, front side chunks, upper interior, bottom interior, back of the interior, stairs and railings and then there's collision prims. So also, collision is good and handled properly. The bow & top are phantom tho.
The textures have multiple faces, so it's easy to customize and nothing blurs at the large sizes. I can't guarantee it isn't a rip or copied content, but I highly doubt it. So, assuming it's OC on SL? That's BIG.
Downsides:
The mesh faces are flat and angular. Not a huge amount of detail in the mesh itself, which is almost certainly how the Li stayed so low, and to me is a perfectly fine trade off. The interior is worse, but easily decorated to hide this. The textures are good quality, 1024x but fairly bland. Again, nbd, can easily replace or decorate. In fact, in you plan on retexturing for customization, this makes it easier as you don't have to fuss as much with specific texture maps.
The interior is the only part that really "disappoints." It's what you see in the pictures, so there's no deception here, but the whole ship doesn't have an interior meshed out, just the two upper decks in the back. Not such a big thing when it's easy to make your own interior in the spacious hull below and can even blank out the texture at the back as if it were a hangar door.
All in all, very solid even if it's not THE most beautiful mesh out there. Least it's unique, low Li, easy to customize. Price is marginally steep, but I have no regrets paying for it.
