WHAT IS A RAW TERRAIN MAP?
==================================================

A RAW terrain map is a specially-formatted file that, when applied by a sim owner, determines how a private sim is terraformed, e.g., the shape of a shore line, the height of any hills or valleys, and the depth of any water features.

WHAT A RAW TERRAIN MAP IS NOT
==================================================

A RAW terrain map does not determine the texture used for grass, sand, dirt, or rock. Nor does it determine any trees, grass, or shrubbery that might be present on a sim.

DELIVERY OF YOUR RAW TERRAIN MAP
==================================================

Once purchased, you will automatically receive a crate object that, once clicked, will open the ZZ InterDesign Secure Delivery System site where you can download a .zip file containing your bundle of .RAW terrain maps. The reason for relying on a delivery method outside of Second Life is because image files, such as .raw terrains, are compressed into a lower quality JPEG2000 format during the in-world upload process. Such a format will cause unacceptable distortion in your terrain.

HOW TO APPLY YOUR RAW TERRAIN MAP

To apply your RAW terrain map, you must be an estate owner. Estate managers do not have sufficient rights to apply terrain files. If you are not an estate owner and wish to apply a RAW terrain map, you must contact your estate owner and have them do it for you.

WON'T BUILDING ON MY LAND OBSCURE THE DESIGN?
==================================================

Anything you build at ground level will appear on the global map, which may obscure your terrain map. If you wish to avoid this issue so that the design of your terrain remains pure, you can build on a platform or have a skybox at a minimum height of 400 meters.

USAGE RIGHTS
==================================================

This RAW terrain is for your individual use only. You are not permitted to share this terrain to another resident for use on their private sim.

There is one notable exception - you may send one copy of an individual terrain file to your estate owner if you lack the requisite permissions to apply it to your private sim. To avoid potential image compression issues detailed above, the best way to do this is probably through email or another out-of-world file sharing tool.
