1 section of simple fence landed me 95 prims.

Just too high a prim cost. They look great, but 1 star due to prim count

Not worth it.

16-28 prims per section. Completely unusable over long sections. The artist has the obj and dae available on Turbo-Squid for about 9 bucks. Your money would probably be better spent buying that and trying to optimize it for Second Life.

Up to 27 LI per section

Absolutely ridiculous and unuseable, even prims cost less.

Why are there so many prims?

These have to many prims for something as mesh railing. One of the corner pieces had 27. I would not waste your L$ on this, not unless you have a lot of prims.
