Street Dermatology: Classic Cornrows

Decided to design my own cornrows, here is why:

1. All of those I've seen never fit properly on my head nor my friends, so I am not sure who out there can fit them.

2. They have too few actual braids so you see huge gaps between each one and it just look like you were going bald but still got your hair braided...UhnUhn

3. Lack of attention to detail in forming each braid. They need to have the proper form around the head--You cant just plop a sliced up torus on there and call it cornrows.

To combat these problems here is what I did.

1. I tried to formed these cornrows as perfectly as I could to my own head so that the appearance was realistic and appealing. Then I tried them on several shapes including male and female shapes of all sorts. I have included 4 sizes (s,m,l,xl) In hopes of ensuring close matches to most avatars. OF COURSE SOME ADJUSTMENT WILL BE NECESSARY WITH THIS STYLE OF HAIR--but my aim is to keep it minimal.

2. These braids are closely placed only leaving a small space to mimic the scalp that would show with precise parting in real life.

3. I toyed with the "starting point" of each braid for quite a while. When prims over lap they often do some strange stuff with the textures. I placed them in a way that would minimize this as much as possible. I also lined the hair line with extra prims at the sides to increase realism.

All in all this is likely one of the best cornrow hair styles in SL.
