Sturm PayPerVote v1.25 Manual

Sturm PayPerVote is an easy to use, dynamic, low lag picture voting system. This system is specifically designed to support contests and events where there is a 'pay-per-vote' foundation.

~ Quick Pay up to 4 votes at one time.
~ Optional Pay to Reserve the board feature.
~ Whoever reserves the board can drag 'n drop their own picture onto the board.
~ Customize if the total $L paid is displayed or not.
~ Optional Limit 1 Vote per Av, Per Day.
~ Set the Voting Period timer 1 Minute to 12 Months!
~ Up to 10 Admins can administer the board settings.
~ Split donated proceeds (incl. Board reservations) with up to 3 other Avatars.
~ StatusDisplay shows the Top 10 boards.
~ Control all boards at once using StatusDisplay!

Getting Started

1) Edit the 'Configuration' notecard included in the box so you can easily set multiple boards using the same settings.
2) Rez a PayPerVote board and 'Deny' DEBIT_PERMISSIONS. It's okay if you pressed Grant though.
3) Drag the Notecard into the 'Contents' of the board.
4) Click the PayPerVote board, and choose 'Reset Me'. Select 'Grant' when asked to grant DEBIT_PERMISSIONS.
5) At this point, I recommend you 'Take' this updated board into your inventory. This will mean you can then re-rez as many as you need. If you re-rez each board from your inventory, you will not need to grant DEBIT_PERMISSIONS on each rez... however if you 'Copy' using the 'Hold & Drag' method you will.

What are DEBIT_PERMISSIONS, you ask?
Good question. Debit Permissions are a Second Life avatar permission, which allows Second Life to access and use your Linden $ balance. It allows the script to give part of any money it receives to others (i.e. if you are splitting paid votes/donations with multiple avatars). You must grant this whether or not you intend to use the splitting features as it is also what allows you to give back funds that are paid in error (I.e if someone tries to vote on a board when the voting is already over etc, or tries to vote more than once in a day.)

6) Optionally, rez the StatusDisplay. See the StatusDisplay section below.

PayPerVote Board Menu

ADMIN Menu
The ADMIN menu will only show for the board owner, and also any admins you specify in the Configuration notecard.

Reserve: Will provide the option for you to reserve the board. You will have to Pay the board if it is set that way to complete the reservation.
Clear Pics: Will remove any user-dropped images from the board Contents, and reset it to the default.
Timer Info: Will tell you how long is left for voting, if voting is active.
Reset Me: Complete Reset of the board. You will have to re-grant DEBIT_PERMISSIONS. This should be used to apply new or update settings from the Configuration notecard, or if the board should get stuck.
Vote Tally: If the voting is active, how many votes have been cast.
$L Tally: If voting is active, how many $L Linden Dollars have been paid to the board for the current contest.
Start Vote: Will begin the voting contest for that board only. To mass begin, we recommend you use the StatusDisplay prim.
End Vote: Will end the current voting period early for that board only. To end all boards, we recommend you use the StatusDisplay prim.

FREE Updates Policy

You are entitled to FREE updates as they become available. Rez the 'Check For Updates' prim that was included in the box with your PayPerVote board, Configuration notecard and StatusDisplay prim.

Disclaimer and Refund Policy

Sturm PayPerVote is a utility designed to aid in the maintaining and administration of picture-based voting contests. Kassturm cannot be held responsible for improper use or miscalculating split percentages. Please double-check your math before putting changes concerning the split of Linden dollars into place. DEBIT_PERMISSIONS must be granted, by design, and must be re-granted each time a board is reset.

Refunds of Sturm PayPerVote are not available as it is a No-Transfer product. However, if you did purchase more than one Sturm PayPerVote in error, you may be reimbursed the cost of the duplicate transaction(s) as long as it is brought to our attention within 72 hours of the purchase.

Note: Marketplace purchases where the orders were delivered to separate avatars are not included. The above is intended to assist multiple deliveries to the same avatar, and/or multiple in-world purchases to the same end-user avatar.
