The Subspace Bubblegun is an energy-weapon (raygun) that fires small distortions in the space-time continuum at its target. If the target is using RestrainedLife, they may be captured in a subspace bubble when hit by it. (Note, the probability of this is high but not 100% -- sometimes it may require several shots to capture a target. Less lag = greater success rate. Also, regular sims work better than Openspaces.) Subspace bubbles can be fired through walls or other material objects, but are stopped by any avatar whether the avatar is RestrainedLife enabled or not.
Once captured in a bubble, targets are unable to move or escape on their own. Anyone outside the bubble may touch it to manipulate it. They will have three options:
"Silence"/"Unsilence": By manipulating the event horizon of the subspace field, one can effectively stop all outgoing communications from the interior of the bubble, silencing the one contained inside and preventing outgoing IMs.
"Deafen"/"Undeafen": A similar manipulation of the event horizon prevents communications from penetrating into the bubble, leaving the victim unable to hear what is going on outside, or receive IMs.
"Release": From outside the bubble, a simple manipulation of the quantum-flux (I've seen way too much Star Trek) collapses the bubble, freeing anyone inside.
