A synchrotron is a particular type of cyclic particle accelerator, descended from the cyclotron, in which the accelerating particle beam travels around a fixed closed-loop path.
This is not a large scale synchrotron for research, is a working portable particles accelerator, useful for protein and large-molecule crystallography, Inorganic material crystallography and microanalysis, Fluorescence studies, Medical imaging, Particle therapy to treat some forms of cancer.
Clicking on the central cylinder lights up the machine, the synchrotron rotate, and you will see the synchrotron light source.
