<TA>Land Sound (RADIO) Easy Share System
<TA>Land Sound (RADIO) Easy Share System
Pass the land sound URL from one parcel to an adjacent parcel.
##########################
Back story…
<TA>'s current land situation includes a small "Rez Area" and we wanted it to play the same music as the main parcel. We also change the music frequently using one of several systems.
Having tried the system from one of "The Big Guys," we found it wanting. Primarily, our complaint was that there were several steps of picking, confirming, choosing, clicking, confirming…
There had to be an easier way…

BEFORE YOU BUY:
!!!! This works if the OWNER OF THE POTS (or whatever object houses the scripts) OWNS THE LAND.
!!!! Where land is group owned, the pots (or whatever object houses the scripts) must be deeded to the group.
!!!! In the land settings, you have to NOT select "Restrict gesture and object sounds to this parcel."
WHAT YOU GET:
You get two scripts inside "lovely pots."
You get two scripts that you can put in your own things.
<TA>Land Sound (RADIO) Easy Share: Sender Pot
<TA>Land Sound (RADIO) Easy Share: Listener Pot
<TA>Land Sound (RADIO) Easy Share: Sender Script
<TA>Land Sound (RADIO) Easy Share: Listener Script
WHAT IT DOES:
The sender will periodically send the land sound URL from the main parcel to the listener on the "other" parcel.
If the land sound URL has changed, the listener pot will set the land URL on the "other" parcel to the received URL.
WHAT YOU DO:
Rez the SENDER POT on the parcel that will respond to your land radio (whatever… it does not matter. In fact, this will work even if you just type the sound URL into your land settings…).
Rez the LISTENER POT within a few meters of the SENDER POT on the other parcel.
Check that, in the land settings, you have to NOT select "Restrict gesture and object sounds to this parcel."
That's it!
UNTESTED BUT… There is no reason that the parcels have to touch. The two objects running the scripts just need to be within chatting range. So, that…
==== OPTIONAL CONFIGURATION ====
The system chats on channel 99 by default. In the unlikely event you are using that channel for something else, you can open BOTH scripts and edit that channel number.
..................................................
// This is the output Channel from the sender script
// Uncomment ONE of the following:
// integer outputChannel = 0; // Local Chat for trace
integer outputChannel = 99;
