TMS Aurora skip HUD
==============

This HUD will let you control the rather pretty Aurora from The Mesh Shop. It's a little different to my usual skip HUD offering in that it also has a set of gauges that tell you the important things you need to know.

What's in the box?
============

You'll find the HUD and two scripts (only one of which should be placed in the boat), plus a few other sundries.

Preparing for use
============

IMPORTANT: you MUST put ONLY one of the two scripts called "TMS Aurora HUD dial info sender" or "TMS Aurora HUD dial info sender (knots)" in to the boat if you want the HUD's gauges to work. If you don't put the script in to the boat then the gauges will not show you the boat's information, but the various buttons will still operate the boat just fine.

Why are there two scripts? Well, while the boats own floating text will report a top speed of about 5o knots, the needle on the dashboard will only display about 30. The dashboard doesn't state which units the speed is in, but it looks like a bug in the boat's script to me.

So "TMS Aurora HUD dial info sender" will report the speed needle's actual position, indicating a top of speed of about 30 somethings while "TMS Aurora HUD dial info sender (knots)" will show the actual speed in knots to match the floating text the boat will display. Pick whichever is most important to you, perhaps you want the HUD to match the dashboard or perhaps you want the HUD to match the floating text.

I've told Dutch about it, so perhaps he'll issue a fix for the boat's incorrect speed reading. If he does then "TMS Aurora HUD dial info sender" will work just fine in the fixed boats, and "TMS Aurora HUD dial info sender (knots)" will work just fine in fixed or unfixed boats.

To install your choice of script, simply:-

a) rez your boat
b) edit your boat
c) choose which script to use, and drag it in to the boat's inventory - ONLY INSTALL ONE SCRIPT OF THE TWO PROVIDED!
d) take your boat back to inventory (you may wish rename the boat first, to indicate it does HUD things)
e) rez your boat with script, the boat will now send the gauge positions to the HUD when you're out and about

How to use it
=========

To use the HUD, simply attach it to a convenient HUD location. I find that the HUD Bottom works best for me, but it'll work most anywhere that suits you.

Once attached, simply press the button for the command you want to issue to your Aurora.

If you've installed a sender script in to the boat then you should see the gauges move when the boat is started.

Mod/Copy
=======

Yeah, I like keeping things so that people can play.

I've included the FP texture, so feel free to save to your local hard drive and tint/recolour. This is a courtesy to you, dear customer. Please don't be evil and abuse it :)

You should be able to move the HUD's buttons around to your heart's content if you don't like the layout.

The chat commands for each button are held in the button descriptions, so if you want to change what gets chatted then feel free to change them (using Edit Linked). It might be an idea to put a different texture on the button, just so you know!

You could even add/remove buttons, the HUD shouldn't care at all.

Simples!
