10 October is considered to be the day of birth of the ‘tuxedo’; on that day in 1886 young Griswold Lorillard was invited to the annual Autumn Fair in Tuxedo, New York. He decided to wear the jacket his father had made; a formal jacket without the tails. Later this jacket was called after its ‘place of birth’

The ‘dinner jacket’ or ‘smoking’ in Europe had a different history. Originally it was a velvet jacket with satin lapels that was warn after dinner when the gentlemen sat by the fire to smoke cigars. This jacket was supposed to protect the better clothes against the smoke.

This package is the open version part of a very complete tuxedo template. The shirt has a plissé front and laying collar. The jacket, with satin lapels, is worn open. In this package you will find 2 low cut waistcoats (European style) – a lapelled black one and a light grey silk one.
Cummerbunds should not be missed in the package. You will find a red and a black one. They cover 2 layers, partially on the pants and partially on the shirt.

In the pack you will also find 2 sculpted bow ties, but if you don’t want a sculpted element (think of long rezzing times on laggy sims) you can decide to wear the bow ties on the shirt layer. Of course they come with a generator to rez the sculpts with your name as the creator.

PLEASE ALSO CHECK OUT THE CLOSED VERSION OR THE COMPLETE VERSION.
