The use of tar is a key component in any ancient to medieval environment that includes shipbuilding. Tar was historically used to coat wooden hulls of ships to preserve them. In northern regions kilns were used to extract tar from pine roots, but in some cases it could also be harvested from naturally occurring surface pools
The Tar Pit represents one of such locations. Sculpted rocky terrain overgrown with cattails/rence plants, with three crater-like parts where steaming hot tar freely flows. Two barrels, already filled, are on a side.
When clicked it will give a wearable tar pole, and it includes an animation, for "shoveling" liquid tar into the barrels.
