Tattler allows you to receive notifications of when any person logs into or out of SL. If there are people of whom you need to know their online status, but they aren't in your friend's list...or they have turned notify off, then Tattler is what you need. Warning: If you chose to use Tattler for the purpose of spying, be prepared for any adverse and unhappy affects.

Use Tattler as a buried prim somewhere, or wear it as part of an attachment. Whenever a person logs on or logs off, Tattler will inform you either by private chat or by IM/Email, depending on your setup options. How you install Tattler will partly determine when you will receive notifications.

By design, Tattler is not written to be a hud, so it does not clutter your viewer with information.

When first started up, Tattler displays the online status of each person in your list. After that Tattler will inform you when that person's online status changes.

Update Version 1.6.1 fixes a couple of serious bugs that could prevent notifications from occuring.

Version 1.6 adds following additions over 1.5
Email=my@address + email override to selected names. This option allows you to specify Email notifies even if that option is turned off in SL prefs on a name by name basis.
/100 list -- Prints a formatted list of the status of all persons being tracked by Tattler.
...and numerous changes under the hood.

Configuration options:
Attach -configure Tattler to work as an attachment
Auto on -Automagically suspend an external Tattler if also using an attached Tattler
Notify - send notifications privately to chat window or to IM/Email. A Global setting
Minutes=xx - Amount of time in minutes between checks. Tattler defaults to 5 if not defined.
Email=my@address- Tells Tattler what Email address to use when desiring email notification on specific persons.
Alert_IM or Alert_Local - Turn on audio alerts
IM sound or Local sound -Drop in your own sounds for notifications
Name=first last notifymethod - Number of names limited only by memory and usage (in otherwords, don't try 1000 names). "notifymethod" defaults to the Notify setting if left undefined. Current options are local, im, alert, email.

Local Chat command options:
At present, the following commandline options are avaialble....

/100 firstname lastname Privately chat back online status of person in Tattler's list.
/100 sleep Suspends Tattler from checking online status and reporting
/100 wake Reactivates Tattler to begin checking online status and reporting.
/100 reload Resets the script, reloading tattler.config.
/100 auto_on Turn on auto mode
/100 auto_off Turn off auto mode
/100 list List the status of all names being tracked.
