[Teegle] Elegant Name Plates - Black on White
These lovely scripted horse stall name plates can display names up to 11 letters and would make a lovely addition to any barn or home.
To use your name plate, rez it and left click. A dialog box will pop up asking you to enter the name you'd like displayed on the name plate. These name plates can accept letters and spaces only - please do not enter any punctuation or hit enter.
By default, odd lettered names will be centered and even lettered names will be slightly off center. To re-center, just edit linked and click the two invisible prims where letters are listed, then adjust slightly left or right using the position sliders.
To set additional managers who can change the names on your horses' name plates, open the script and enter their user UUID's at the top, under list managers. 3 examples have been given. To find a user's UUID, if you're using Firestorm, open their profile and select the UUID written under their name. If you use another viewer, follow the instructions here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Talk:How_can_I_find_my_avatar's_UUID%3F
If your name plates will be linked to moving doors, you will need to remove the script out of the name plate and place it in the door's root prim. If your doors open when left clicked, you will need to WAIT until the door has closed back to its default position before hitting the submit button and changing the name on the name plate. If you do not wait, your door will reset itself in whatever position or rotation it's in when you hit submit and you will have to manually put it back where it should go.
If you don't change the name plates often and want to get rid of the popup menus, you can delete the name plate script after you have set the horse's name.
If you want to change the font on your name plate, you can make your own letters and replace the letter UUID's in the script with your own. Make sure your letters are on a transparent background.
Perfect
Exactly what I was looking for and very well made. Price is fair.
Versatile
I love that these are mod so you can tint the texture faces of all of it (border, background, and letters) whatever color you wish. You can even edit the horizontal texture and object scale of the lettering meshes if you prefer a little more tightly kerned lettering. Big thanks to Teager for providing white/greyscale textures on this thing so that good color tinting is even possible. Gorgeous product and even if you scale it up to 64m wide its just 9 LI. (I honestly don't know anyone who would even need to do this but in case anyone was curious, that's how heavy it gets on LI at it's largest size possible.) XD
