NOTE: Copy+mod prims with no-mod script.

Tentaculus Infestus is the most advanced ground tentacle set in SL. Here is a quick summary of special features:

* Tentacles can grow and reach for AVs on touch, sensor, timer, or external trigger.
* Extensive menu for customizing appearance and behavior (see details later). Tons of looks are possible.
* Advanced users can mod and script further: prims are mod, a custom setting of tentacle positions/rotations/scale can be saved, and scripter examples are included for sending commands to the tentacles and receiving link messages when tentacles trigger or retract. You can also link with other prims to create more complex objects (but the root prim should remain the root).
* Other applications are possible, like modding into an attachment or unlinking tentacle prims and just using them as standard individual tentacles.

DEMOS can be found near http://slurl.com/secondlife/Annapurna/200/224/777 -- there is a potted plant example on the terrace, a tunnel example 100 meters underneath it, and a couple others around.

Features:

* Select "trigger" and "response" for behaviors:

o The tentacles can trigger on touch, sensing an AV nearby, or on a timer (an AV must still be around in case of a timer), and there is an external trigger mode for command-based or script-based triggering.
o The response can be to reach for the AV (growing as needed), to just point towards the AV without growing, or to grow and wildly twitch the tentacles (this is NOT the fast "wagging" you see in other tentacle decorations -- it is a crazier twitching effect). In external trigger mode, the tentacle can also be commanded to reach by giving a nearby world coordinate as a target.

* Select from different range and timing values for the above effects.
* Control movement of "resting" tentacles by selecting speed and strength from the menus, and by quick selection of softness, tension, drag, and gravity values (L*nden parameters that can have a huge impact on motion).
* Switch basic layout from menu (e.g., circular, rectangle grid, single row) and the tentacles automatically re-arrange. One custom layout can be saved (mod the tentacles and use the "savecustom" command).
* Control overall size of this layout by clicknig increase/decrease in menus.
* Select tentacle length and width from menu or specify precisely chat.
* Switch tentacle shape from menu (e.g., cone-like, tube-like, profile cut).
* Add different levels of randomness to tentacle sizes and placement.
* Select color, alpha, shine, and glow values from menu or precisely specify any valid values in chat (or mod with SL Edit). Cycling color and changing "bump" are also available from menu.
* Select from over 30 textures and control client-side texture animation. You can also command texture using UUID (with chat or script).
* Toggle a "chatty" mode that lets Infestus announce when it reaches for an AV in touch or sense mode, and change the message to be chatted with a Settings Notecard.
* Pick the channel for commands in a Settings Notecard.
* Automatic update feature (checks for update on rez).
* Scripting features for advanced users: send commands from scripted objects or from a script inside the root prim. A script inside the root prim can get link messages when tentacles are triggered or retract. These features make it possible to integrate Infestus with custom scripted objects like HUDs, remotes, or combat systems. The included examples for scripters are:

o InfestusScriptDemo : this example can be placed in the root prim to change glow when tentacles are triggered.
o Retexture Demo : this scripted object example sends texture and color commands when touched
o Position Demo : this scripted object example commands Infestus to reach towards it.
