What a discovery! I fall in love with this mystic and philosophical painter. Looking at his works, the hairs of my arms are at attention. Biography
Roger Suraud, undisputed leader of philosopher's painting, is one of the greatest masters of our time. Powerful, symbolic and mythical, Suraud's work is an invitation to travel, dream and meditation.
Born in 1938, painter and sculptor, his representations are as many questions about the man and his creation. Powerful and romantic, his works show us the man through his history, artistic, cultural and spiritual. Suraud rewrites civilization in its glory and excessiveness.
His works reveal each time this quest for the absolute where creativity and knowledge make the power of man: "horses galloping through sumptuous scenery, theaters lined balconies, enhanced with baroque sculptures.In these palaces gorged that resonate with the echo of his wild rides, filigree, the images of Beethoven, Chopin, Wagner, Hugo, Rimbaud ...

Born in 1938 in St Etienne, Roger Suraud is son and grandson of sculptor. He was destined rather for architecture. He has also received, as such, the first prize of Fine Arts in 1956 and 1957. We feel well in his works the impact of this attraction first for construction. In 1964, he exhibited his first paintings, then turned to the family gift: sculpture. A complete artist, therefore, who invites to travel, dreams and meditation.
Roger Suraud passed away at the age of 77 on June 2, 2016
