An eerie tale, The Brick Room is the story of a mother and daughter alone in a room not meant for the living.
Where are stories born? What brings a writer to compose a romance, a comedy or a horror tale? The truth is sometimes a writer can't tell you. Not all of Lena's tales end with laughter and warmth. Some are true horror and pour from her pen as though some other entity took charge of her in the days the tale is written. Such is the case with The Brick Room. The story was written when she was engulfed in her university studies and had decided to enter a writing competition. She had another story in mind but this one kept forcing its way out. Eventually, she gave herself to it, and out came The Brick Room. Picked up by several magazines, The Brick Room still shines today as one of her best pieces.
At Readmore Books the tales are sometimes sweet vignettes, sometimes glimpses of horror. One might even discover stories for children. Nothing stands in the way of Lena, an author in real life, from letting her mental inventions come alive.
