Unity Maxim Hammer utilizing Animesh for realistic effect.
A flail for Unity Maxim - unique but has some issues.
It's a flail; a spiked ball on a chain - there doesn't seem to be many for Unity Maxim unless you put the Unity Maxim weapon scripts into an unscripted object and make your own in that way, if not uploading a model yourself. I have to applaud the creator for bringing these kinds of weapons to market.
The signature swinging action that you would expect when attacking seems rather basic; Unity Maxim attacks are blisteringly fast, but I have noticed the ball and chain seems to stay suspended in the air like a largely static weapon during some attacks rather than dynamically swinging. Still, I have to give kudos to the creator for trying. This may be the closest thing to genuinely swinging a medieval-style spiked ball and chain flail during combat against another opponent in Second Life.
In my experience with this weapon, the sheathed weapon part did not disappear upon drawing the weapon as you would expect from any number of high quality Unity Maxim weapons, leaving you with two of these on you; one in your hand and the other still on your hip, which left me removing the sheath altogether during combat and only having the drawn weapon attached.
Lastly, this weapon is not Copy or Modify, as the product image implies; as you can see in the Permissions on the product page; it is Transfer only. Copy and modify weapons for Unity Maxim do seem to exist on the marketplace but the product image here is deceptive. Weapons for particular combat systems don't tend to be associated with modifiability, but I was at least looking forward to tinting this weapon black If you want a dark-colored flail, for an evil-looking character for example, you're limited to the Orcish "Swingy Basher" and the Ebony Star, which features a spiked handle and an elongated head or "ball" rather than the classic round ball type of flail. That goes for the Stars of the Lady as well (although that one seems to have a handle that is nicely inlaid in stone, to its credit!)
