The good: This is a first-rate piece of mesh. It's quite detailed and the texturing is good.

The bad: The item is unscripted and does not cast light in its delivered state. It is mod, so if you have the editing skills, you can change its properties, add a lighting script, etc., and make it function as an light source.

However, it also requires your viewer to be set to use an LOD ("level of detail") of 4, in order to remain fully-rezzed at distances more than about 1-2m. If your LOD is something more reasonable, like 2.0 or 2.5, unless you're within that distance, the bulb actually disappears, lit or not.

Very few things in SL require an LOD of 4 (and arguably, none should). Setting the LOD that high makes your computer work much harder to render everything in view, and for most objects, the effort will be wasted. This requirement is stated in a NC in the delivered package, but there's not a word about it in the MP description. If there had been, I would not have purchased this item.

I hope the creator improves their technique on future items; this one technical deficiency will make this item useless for most people.
