This 3D astronomical science exhibit shows the 20 nearest stars. It's based on the exhibit at the International Spaceflight Museum (also built by Troy McLuhan).
Each star has a hover-text label. When you click on a star, it flares up, plays a short musical tune, and tells you some facts about itself.
The base is made of brushed copper.
The whole exhibit rotates slowly to help you perceive the three-dimensional relationship of the stars.
