The Old Orchard Cottage is a small home with big charms. As you approach the front entrance you'll notice the carefully carved wooden spindle handrail and rustic farmhouse lights. Truly a great place to sit and enjoy a quiet sunset or a morning coffee/Tea.
As you walk through the elegant front doorway you find yourself in the great room. The centerpiece is a lovely fireplace with old stone chimney making its way up to the peak of the cathedral ceiling. Cracked off plaster reveals the old stone underneath, a hint of the old roots of the home. As you glance up you will notice the wood beam construction and delicate lantern style chandelier that hangs above. Subtle shading on all walls give a soft and warm feel to the interior.
Moving on into the kitchen you are greeted with a beautiful traditional rustic ceiling fan. Constructed of cast iron, the patina reveals its age. Gold leaf garlands adorn the motor housing giving it an air of elegance.
From the kitchen you make your way through the double french doors out to the back stoop. Relax under the pergola adorned with whimsical string lights, a magical place. Picture yourself here on a warm summer night, cold drink, music in the background, watching as the fireflies dance in the meadows.
The large master bedroom features a traditional drop ceiling supporting a single dome light version of the same beautiful ceiling fan we encountered in the kitchen. Four sash windows provide just the right mix of light with wall space for decor and furniture.
Next to the Bedroom is a smaller room featuring an interesting take on a coffered ceiling. Each recessed panel is semi transparent to allow for the light to sift through when turned on. A fun and unique lighting solution that you can craft to your taste with a multitude of color options and brightness levels.
The third and final room, great for office or library, features a cathedral ceiling with barrel style wood beam supports. centered in the ceiling sits another lovely single dome light ceiling fan. A large arched window is the centerpiece of the room. The perfect room for some lazy Sunday afternoon reading.

I purchased this house 10 years ago in 2012, and has always been one of my favorite houses. Received an update for the house a little while ago. And I thought, it's a long time since I used this house. So rebuild my land with the new update. Some nice new features. Wish the lights outside on the backporch would work also. But hey, not complaining. Still love this house, big enough to make a nice cozy home.

I purchased this in 2016 and just got a re-delivery today. It STILL competes with the things released in 2020 despite being 4 years since I bought it! TDE is such a high quality store that I never mind the lengths between releases because holy smacks,are they worth the wait! Still my #1 favorite store in all of SL.
Perfect and awsome Cottage!
This is an amazing Cottage, the textures are perfect, the Cottage is like the picture, love the style and the doors, windows and lights controls, also i bought the outdoor fireplace and the garden wall too, everything is incredible with a very high quality! Love it!!!

This is a nice cottage. I'm not afraid to pay alittle higher price for a house when i see builds like this. What turned me on to The Domineaux Effect structures is how nice The Industrial Loft I bought inworld turned out, along with a few other items.Only things I can suggest and say is inworld the house is 2500 L, so alittle more. And maybe a bathroom wall and floor add on like i have got with some other houses from another builder.

The photographs simply dont do it justice. You need to see it in world... the textures are great.. the details are amazing. It was well worth what i paid for .. and when i had a question about the locking doors.. ( nothing was wrong with the i simply didn't understand something) I got a friendly, clear answer in about 3 hours, on a weekend as well as a note that if that didn't help the maker would come help me. Can't ask for more than that. When eventually ( not any time in the near future) I need to upgrade.. i'll start here first. Superb build, both cottage and garage.
Don't waste your money
Tiny house with tiny rooms, there is no way to remove separate walls to open the floor plan up, the doors do not auto open, the rooms are very small and don't take into account the amount of room your avatar needs to pan around. This house is so over priced its not funny. The house needs to be twice the size to accommodate your avatar. There is a resizer included, but guess what you will have huge doors too. Yes it is cute yes the textures are very well done, but not being able to remove separate walls is a huge downer.
