The Tinsley Cooling Towers, Sheffield 1998. This photo was taken about a month before demolition of these cooling towers, in the foreground is the Tinsley Viaduct. At the closest point the the North Tower stood 5 Metres from the M1, meaning that they were dangerous to be demolished during the 1980s, when the rest of the Blackburn Meadows Power Station was demolished. These towers have since been featured in Brassed Off and the Full Monty, however their time came during the August Bank Holiday at 3:00am.
