A pair of torcheres in carved and gilded wood, George III.

Made by John Linnell around 1780, they consist of a balustrade surrounded by edged leaves, supported at the base by triangular shaped flowers and at the corners by three ram's heads followed by cabriolet legs.

Magnificent Torcheres

I love these torcheres. They look so elegant with other C&G goodies on top of them such as vases, candelabras or bouquets of flowers. The proportion of them is wonderful and they look so sleek and elegant while the detailed gold carvings shine.
