Trick or Treat - The FREEPLAY GAME!

**v3 30/09/2024 Players can now just touch the board and select FREEPLAY from the popup to start a game! This is a much-requested feature and I'm glad to say it has now been incorporated.**

What's In The Box?
----------------------

TOT Game Board - Be sure to drag them out from your inventory and don't drag-copy the boards once they are rezzed else the neon surround embellishment will lose it's subtle flicker. I recommend having 2 or 3 boards available depending on level of visitors. There are 3 types of game board for you to choose from depending on space and prims and whatever look you are going for. A board with Halloween decor...a plain board with a neon surround and just a plain board.

TOT Contest Board - This board displays the Top 5 players and their scores along with the percentage share of the pot. It also shows the time left in the present contest to run.

TOT Points Breakdown Board - This shows the breakdown of points and features along with their icon.

A garland of lights to place with the contest board which helps spice it up a bit and entice your visitors to play. Please do not link this item to the board else it will corrupt it. Just place it.

A spare neon surround. Again... please do not link this item to the boards or you may break them. Just place it.

Instructions & How To Use
-------------------------------

Copy all items from the delivery box to your inventory. Drag out one Game Board, the Contest Board, its Garland and the Points Breakdown Board and site them. Accept the debit permissions else you won't be able to pay the prizes out to your winners.

The game is set up already for you to play straight 'out of the box'. The contest board is set up for a 7 day contest with a L$100 prize. The Game Boards are set up with a default high score to beat of 40000 pts and an instant prize of L$10 to anyone who beats it.

Once someone beats the high score on a particular board they will be paid L$10 (default) and the high score to beat will increase by 500 pts (default). If their score is good enough it will appear on the contest board. After 7 days or however much time you set for a contest. The contest board timer will stop and it will be time to pay out your winners. Touch the board and select reset board and payout winners. Winners will receive their percentage share of the prize. The board does not pay out automatically at contest end. You as owner can add more L$ to the pot once a contest has started by right clicking and selecting pay. Other players cannot.

In order for players to start a game on the Game Board just touch it and select 'FREEPLAY' from the popup. Alternatively, players can right click the board and select pay. Players can choose to pay L$1 which will then get refunded back to them straight away to keep the game FREEPLAY and within the Linden Lab TOS (as of v3 this is no longer required).

The Game Boards do not have automatic play like some games of this ilk. Instead, the player will have to look carefully at the board to match numbers. This in turn keeps the player invested and challenged and helps to stop folk from playing multiple boards. There is a play timer on each board of 5 minutes which is ample time to finish a game. If a player leaves a board or doesn't finish by the 5 minutes, the game will end. The board emits an audible alarm when there are only 20 seconds left to play.
All these options can be edited in the Contest and Game Board's Configuration Notecard in each of their contents.

I suggest leaving the settings as they are for now to see how it plays or you can go right ahead and change them before you start your contest. It is completely up to you.

Once the boards are ready and they have loaded both their configurations it is a good idea to reset them all, especially if you have changed configurations, by clicking on them and selecting reset from the blue pop-up menu. Statistics should also be reset on the Game Boards.

The boards can be resized up...but not down. DON'T RESIZE THE DECOR BOARD AS PRIMS WILL BE 130+ ! The neon and light garland can be edited with a colour of your choice and to match your area. Right click > edit linked > select face > texture > select colour.
