The Triskel or Triskelion is a three-legged pattern, with many examples on Pictish stones and in celtic manuscripts; spirals are among the most sacred signs of Neolithic Europe, symbolising the cycles of life, the movements of the seasons.
They appear on megalithic monuments, entrances to caves, sacred places of worship, all over the Continent and the British Isles, such as Newgrange in Ireland.
Spirals also symbolised the coiled serpent or dragon, representing the natural energies of the Earth and Sky.
The triple spiral often represents the female principle, and is particulary sacred to the Celts, who used a triple cycle for the seasons and for many magical patterns.
Trident jewels and clothing are inspired by passion for medieval, ancient, ethnic and tribal jewelry and costumes. Each design combines creativity with careful research of museum replicas, archaeological findings and study of their historical symbolism.
