The Follower – Instructions

The Follower is a simple HUD that allows your avatar to follow another avatar smoothly at a set distance. It is designed to stay out of the way and not interfere with normal movement.

What the HUD Does

• Allows you to select a nearby avatar to follow
• Follows at an adjustable distance
• Pauses automatically when you move and picks up again when you stop moving
• Stops safely if the target is lost

How to Use

Wear the HUD
Click the HUD to open the main menu.

Menu options:
• Pick – Choose who to follow
• Dist + – Increase follow distance
• Dist - – Decrease follow distance
• Start – Begin following
• Stop – Stop following
• Close – Close the menu

Pick a target
Click “Pick.”
The HUD scans for nearby avatars.
Select a name from the list.

Names may be shortened. Each button includes a short ID to prevent duplicates.

Start following
Click “Start.”
Your avatar will turn and follow the selected target at the chosen distance.

Adjust distance
Use “Dist +” or “Dist -” to change the follow distance.
Range is 1 meter to 20 meters.
Changes apply immediately.

Stop following
Click “Stop” at any time.
Your avatar will stop moving and normal control will return.

Behavior Notes

• If you move manually, following pauses briefly so the HUD does not fight your controls.
• If the target cannot be found for several checks, following will stop automatically. (such as when they TP to another sim)
• The HUD does not spam chat or force repeated dialogs.
• The Follower does not use RLV
