The Tulip is a new tower which is planned to be built in London as a tourist attraction, cultural centre, and educational resource. The structure is designed by Sir Norman Foster & Partners. Standing at 305m (1000ft), it would be the second tallest tower in the city.
The 'bud' of the tulip would have 12 floors, the widest being 34.5m in diameter, and would be mounted on a 'stem', which would be a concrete tube of height about 240m and diameter 14.3m. There would be three viewing windows with gondolas or pods travelling round them (artist's impression shows 8 on each window).
This SL simulation is a full-size replica, which is based on the information available from news releases in late 2018. However, the internal floor facilities have not been made public, so the SL structure is a personal interpretation of the published information and may be revised as further detail becomes available. The owner is free to modify as desired.
The height of the tower is modifiable by leaving out or adjusting stem sections, and gondola operation is unaffected by changing the orientation.
